The United Negro College Fund Founded

The United Negro College Fund was founded on April 25, 1944 by Mary McLeod Bethune and Frederick D. Patterson.  The United Negro College Fund often referred to as UNCF provides scholarships for 37 historically Black colleges and universities. UNCF awards more than 62 million dollars annually in scholarships to 11,000 students.
