Often referred to by many as the greatest baseball player of all times, Willie Howard Mays, Jr. (Willie Mays) died on Tuesday, June 18th at age 93. He retired from the American League after 22 seasons primarily with the New York and San Francisco Giants while ending his career at the New York Mets.  Mays began in the National League at the age of 20 on May 25, 1951 and played his last professional game on September 9, 1973 at age 4. Mays was born on May 6, 1931 in Westfield, Alabama. May 4, 1965 was the day that Willie Mays made history by breaking the National League's home run record with his 512th hit.  Mays had a career  660 home runs.
